Millennials Changing America

Northern New England Bioneers Conference.

Published October 15, 2008 @ 09:46AM PT

We were just invited to speak on the new media panel at the Nortnern New England Bioneers Conference in Portland, Maine. Unfortunately, we'll be on the road. That's sort of a bummer.

We're connecting with Anima LaVoy this evening.

Another person I'm looking forward to chatting with is Anima LaVoy, who I'll be connecting with by phone this evening as we'll be missing each other in DC. Anima is the executive director of Swing Semester. I'll be posting about some of the highlights from our conversation here.

"And I'm Waiting By the Phone..."

To quote Soul Asylum...

While waiting to hear back on the car, I had a good, long phone conversation with Christian McNeil, communication director of GrowSmart Maine. We talked a bit about GrowSmart's successes with Convio. I'm writing something up today and will likely post something about it at NetSquared tomorrow.

Holding Pattern

Published October 15, 2008 @ 09:10AM PT

We're stuck in something of a holding-pattern. It turns out what was thought to be an issue with the strut on our illustrious 2000 Hyundai Elantra is actually a much bigger issue with the rear crossbar. After 8 winters of being assaulted by rocksalt in Maine, it has rotted out and the mechanics strongly advised against going forward without getting it fixed. It's going to be a bit costly, it throws us off by a few days, and we'll regretfully be missing another Changeblogger event, but the show will surely go on as soon as we get this fixed up.

Welcome, friends.

Welcome to the Millennials Changing America blog, which Change.org is so awesomely hosting. I'll be blogging here while on the Millennials Changing America Tour, and I'll be posting articles, videos, photographs, findings, etc. along the way.

Through October and November 2008, I traveled to over 30 cities across the United States to meet, interview and report how young people are leveraging their social and political power. I'm reporting here about the people I met along the way and other millennial-aged (and minded) activists.
